Step-by-step explanation:

let us assume the breadth of the room to be b.

Then the corresponding length of the room will be l=2b.........(i)

We are the perimeter of the room to be 48.

According to the equation of perimeter of a rectangle which is 2(l+b),

we get 48= 2(l+b).

Therefore 48= 2(2b+b). from eqn (i)

24=3b

So we have the breadth of the room, b to be 8m.

The length of the room is 16m.

The total area of the floor is lxb=16x8= 128m².

given the cost of paving marbles is 125 per metre sq.,

the cost of paving marbles on an area of 128m² is 128 = 1.024 Rs

125
