Solutions :-

Given :
Perimeter of hall = 76 m
Cost of carpeting = Rs 4/m²

Let the breadth be x
Length = x + 12

Find the Length and breadth of hall :-

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (Length + Breadth)
=> 76 = 2(x + x + 12)
=> 76 = 2x + 2x + 24
=> 76 - 24 = 4x
=> 52 = 4x
=> x = 52/4 = 13

Therefore,
Breadth = x = 13 m
Length = x + 12 = 13 + 12 = 25 m

Find the Area of hall :-

Area of rectangle = (Length × Breadth= sq. unit
= (25 × 13) m²
= 325 m²

Find the cost of carpeting it at rs 4 per m² :-

1 m² = Rs 4
325 m² = Rs 4 × 325 = Rs 1300

Hence,
Cost of carpeting the hall = Rs 1300

Solutions :-

Let the breadth (b) of hall be x
So, Length (l) = x + 12

We have,
Perimeter of hall = 76 m
Cost of carpeting the hall = Rs 4 per m²

We know that,
Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l + b)
=> 76 = 2(x + x + 12)
=> 76/2 = 2x + 12
=> 38 - 12 = 2x
=> 26 = 2x
=> 26/2 = x = 13

Length = x + 12 = (13 + 12) m = 25 m
Breadth = x = 13 m

Area of rectangle = (lb) sq. unut
= (25 × 13) m²
= 325 m²

Cost of carpeting 1 m² = Rs 4
Cost of carpeting 325 m² = 4 × 325 = Rs 1300

Answer : Cost of carpeting hall = Rs 1300
