The length of the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle exceeds length of its base by 1 cm and exceeds twice the length of the altitude by 3cm. Find the length of each side of the right angle. Please can you help me form the quadratic equation

let the base be x

hypotaneos=x+1____;

let the altitude be y

hypotaneous=2y+3

now

x+1=2y+3

x-2y=3-1

x-2y=2_______
