the length of the minute hand of a clock is 5 cm find the area swept by the minute hand during 7 :10 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.

It is given that the length of minute hand is  cm.
So, we can say that the radius is 5 cm.

According to the question , we have to find the area swept by minute hand during 7 : 10 am to 7:45 am.
During this time, the time consumed will be 7:45 - 7: 10 = 35 minutes.
 
In a minute, the hand of clock rotates by 6°. So, 
In 35 minutes = the hand will rotate by 
35 X 6 = 210°.



Also, It can be observed that it forms a sector while rotating.
So, using sector formula.
So, θ = 210°
area of sector = \frac{theta}{360} XpiX r^{2} .
= \frac{210}{360}  X \frac{22}{7}  X5X5 \\ = \frac{7}{12}X \frac{22}{7} X25 \\ = \frac{11}{6} X 25 \\ =  \frac{275}{6}  \\ =45.83

Hence, the area swept by minute hand is 45.83 cm²
