the length of the minute hand will be the radius of the sector are which it will sweep

so in 60 minutes it sweeps 360°

therefore

by area of sector,

360/360× π(7)²

=π(7)²

=153.86cm2

Step-by-step explanation:

radius= 7cm

circumference = 2πr

= 2(22/7)×7cm

= 44cm

thus the distance covered by the hand in 1 min = 44cm

therefore distance covered in 1 hr = 60×44cm

= 2640cm or 26.4m

edit(sorry read the question wrong)

angle swept by the minute hand in 60 min

= 360/60×60 = 360

area swept = ∅/360πr² = 360/360πr²

= (22/7)×7cm×7cm

= 154cm²
