the length of the parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are 6 cm and 14 cm the length of non parallel sides is same ,i.e., 5 cm find the area of the trapezium

As AE is the perpendicular distance so base equals to square of hypotenuse minus square of perpendicular

it is a pythogorean theorem question .
longer side = 14
shorter side = 6
a trap. has two right triangle in both the ends
so we can put pythogorean theorem
first difference between them
and divid it to get a base of one triangle
14-6=8
8/2
5²-4²=3²( pythogorean theorem)
so it is like a simple
area of a trapezium = 1/2×hieght × sum of parallel sides
now we have found the h by pythogorean theorem
h= 3
1/2×3×20=30 cm²
