Answer:

L = 15 cm and B = 12 cm for original rectangle

Step-by-step explanation:

In the Original rectangle,

   Let breadth be x.

   Length = x + 3

Area of original rectangle  = x(x+2)

In new rectangle,

new breadth = x + 2.

New length = (x+3) + 2

Area of new rectangle = (x+2)(x+5)

Given, Area of new rectangle is 70 sq cm more than original rectangle.

=> (x+2)(x+5) - x(x+2) = 70

=> x²+2x+5x + 10 - x² - 2x = 70

=> 5x + 10 = 70

=> 5x = 70 - 10 = 60

=> x = 12.

Thus the breadth of original rectangle = 12 cm.

               Length of original rectangle = 12 + 3 = 15 cm.

              Breadth of new rectangle  = 14 cm

              Length of new rectangle = 17 cm.
