The length of the rectangle exceeds the breadth by 6cm . If the length is increased by 3cm and breadth decreased by 2cm the area remains the same . Find the length and breadth of the rectangle.

lenght=l
breadth=b
l=b+6. (1)
area=a×b=x
(l+3)(b-2)=x=>lb-2l+3b-6=lb=>3b-2l-6=0. (2)
substituting (1) in (2)
3b-2(b+6)-6=0=>3b-2b-12-6=0=>b=18
l=18+6=24
lenght =24 units
breadth=18 units.
