Answer:

Formula used:

Perimeter of the rectangle= 2(Length+Breadth)

Solution:

Perimeter= 125m

Let the length be 4x and the breadth be x.

According to the condition:

2(4x+x)=125

⇒2 ( 5x) = 125

⇒10x = 125

⇒x =  \frac{125}{10}

⇒x = 12.5

Therefore, The value of x is 12.5

Now, Length = 4x

⇒4×12.5

⇒50m

Breadth= x

⇒12.5m

Thus, The length is 50m and breadth is 12.5m

\mathbb{EXPLAINATION:-}

★ Given,

  • Length is 4 times it's breadth
  • The perimeter is 125 m.
  • Find the length and breadth of the rectangle.

Let the length and breadth be 4x and x respectively.

Formula of finding perimeter of rectangle:-

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf \pink{:\rightarrow\;perimeter\;=\;\bf{{2 \:  (length  +   breadth)}\:}}\end{gathered}

On putting the values, we get

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf {:\rightarrow\;125\;=\;\bf{{2 \:  (4x  +   x)}\:}}\end{gathered}

 \:  \:  \: \begin{gathered}\\\;\sf {:\rightarrow\;125\;=\;\bf{{2 \:  (5x)}\:}}\end{gathered}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \begin{gathered}\\\;\sf {:\rightarrow\;\;\bf{{\frac{125}{2}  \: = 5x}\:}}\end{gathered}

[/tex]

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{ \sf{\cancel\dfrac{125}{2}}}\: = 5x}}\end{gathered}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{ \sf{{62.5}}}\: = 5x}}\end{gathered}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{ \sf{\cancel\dfrac{62.5}{5}}}\: = x}}\end{gathered}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{ \sf{{12.5}}}\: = x}}\end{gathered}

★Therefore;

  • Breadth = 12.5m

ATQ, Length is 4 times it's breadth.

  • Length = 12.5 × 4 = 50m
