Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm.

Then its length is2 x+4 cm.

According to the problem,

or, 2x+4=18

or, x=7.

So breadth of the rectangle is 7 cm and length is 11 cm.

So the area of the rectangle is 7×11=77 cm

\rm{Let\: the\: breadth\: of \:the\: rectangle\: be \:x\: cm.}

Then its length is x+4 cm.

According to the problem,

\sf{2{x+x+4}=36}

\sf{or \:2x+4=18}

\sf{or \:x=7.}

So breadth of the rectangle is 7 cm and length is 11 cm.

So the area of the rectangle is 7×11=77 cm²
