Explanation:

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x m

This length of the rectangle = x + 6 m

We know Perimeter = 2 (length + breadth)

128 = 2 (x + 6 + x)

128 = 2 (2x + 6)

128 = 4x + 12

4x + 12 = 128

4x = 128 - 12

4x = 116

x = 116/4

x = 29 m

The breadth of the rectangle is 29 m

The length x + 6 = 29 + 6 = 35 m

Answer:

Length = x + 6 metre

Breadth = x metre

Perimeter = 2l+2b = 2(x+6) + 2x = 128 metre

Perimeter = 2x + 12 + 2x = 4x + 12 = 128 metre

Perimeter = 4x = 128-12 = 116 metre

Perimeter = x = 116/4 = 29 metre

Breadth = 29 metre

Length = 29+6 = 35 metre
