Let breadth of rectangle is b

therefore, length of rectangle is 2b

so, we know that perimeter of rectangle= 18 cm

2(l+b)= 18 cm

2(2b+b)= 18 cm

2×3b= 18 cm

3b =  \frac{18}{2}

3b= 9 cm

b =  \frac{9}{3}

b = 3 cm

so, breadth of rectangle = 3 cm

and length of rectangle = 2 × 3 = 6 cm

The relation between the length and breadth of a rectangle is given

length = 2 × breadth

Also, the perimeter of the rectangle is 18 cm

We have to find the length and breadth of the rectangle

perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( length + breadth )

                                 18 = 2 {2(breadth) + breadth}

                                9 = 3(breadth)

                    breadth = 9/3

                                  = 3 cm

So, length =  2 × breadth

                =  2 × 3

                = 6 cm

Hence, the length and breadth of the rectangle will be 6 cm and 3 cm respectively.
