let length be x cm.
breadth=x-3 cm
area=x^2-3x
70=x^2-3x
x=10
breadth=x-3 cm
area=x^2-3x
70=x^2-3x
x=10

Length= x +3cm
Breadth = x
Ar.(rect.) = l.b
70 sq. cm = (x+3)x
70sq. cm = x^2 +3x
x^2 +3x -70 = 0
x^2 -7x +10x -70= 0
x(x-7) +10(x-7) = 0
(x+10) (x-7) = 0
Now, Case 1
x+10=0
so, x = -10
Case 2
x-7 = 0
so, x= 7
Since , Case 1 is not possible because Value of breadth is negative
So, Case 2 will be the Right Answer.
Therefore,
Length =x+3
=7cm +3cm
=10 cm
Breadth = x
= 7cm

Breadth = x
Ar.(rect.) = l.b
70 sq. cm = (x+3)x
70sq. cm = x^2 +3x
x^2 +3x -70 = 0
x^2 -7x +10x -70= 0
x(x-7) +10(x-7) = 0
(x+10) (x-7) = 0
Now, Case 1
x+10=0

Case 2

Therefore,

=7cm +3cm
