l is 2x

2(2x+x)=72

4x+2x=72

6x=72

x=72/6

x=12

ie. breadth is 12

length is 2x=2×12=24 cm

let y be breadth
2(x+y)=72...(1)
x=2y....(2)
substitute 2 in 1
2(2y+y)=72
4y+2y=72
6y=72
y=12
breadth =y=12
length=2y=2×12=24
