Answer:

Let the breadth be x

And length (x+17)

ATQ

2 {x+(x+17)}=178

2x+17=178/2

2x=89-17

X=72/2

X=36

Therefore breadth =x=36m

And length =(x+17)=(36+17)=53m

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope it helps....

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of the rectangular park be x and the breadth of the park be (x-17).

Now, the formula for the perimeter of rectangle is → 2 (l+b)

According to the question:-

→ Perimeter of the rectangular park = 178 m

→ 2 (l+b) = 178

→ 2 { x + (x-17) } = 178

→ 2 { x + x - 17 } = 178

→ 2 ( 2x - 17 ) = 178

→ 4x - 34 = 178

→ 4x = 178 + 34 = 212

→ x = 212/4

→ x = 53

Now,

• Length of the park = x = 53 metres

• Breadth of the park = (x-17) = (53 - 17) = 36 metres.

Therefore, the dimensions of the rectangular park are, length 53 m and breadth 36 m.
