let the breadth be x m.
l \:  =   \:  \binom{1}{2} x \:  +  \: x \: m
l = 3x/2 m
area = cost / rate
= 924 / 38.5
= 24 m^2
l × b = 24
3x/2 × x = 24
x^2 = 16
x = 4
length = 6 m
breadth = 4m

Answer:

your answer :

let the breadth of the room be x m

length of the room = x + 50% of x

 = x +  \frac{50}{100}  \times x \\  \\  = x +  \frac{1}{2} x \\  \\  =  \frac{2x + x}{2}  =  \frac{3x}{2} m

Floor are of the room = l × b

  = \frac{3x}{2}  \times x \:  =  \frac{3}{2}   {x}^{2}

38.5 m² carpeting cost = ₹ 924

area \: of \: floor \:  =  \frac{924}{38.5}  =  \frac{924}{38.5}  \times 10

Area of floor = 12 × 2

= 24 sq.m

l × b = 24

 \frac{3}{2} x \times x = 24 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  =   \frac{24 \times 2}{3}  = 16 \\ x = 4

lenght \:  =  \:  \frac{3}{2}  \times 4 = 6m \:

l = 6 m

b = 4 m

Cost of painting the walls at the rate of ₹ 5.50 per m² is ₹ 1320

area \: of \: four \: walls \:  =  \frac{1320}{5.50}  \\  \\  =  \frac{1320}{5.50}  \times 100  \\ \\  =  \frac{1320 \times 100}{5.50}  = 240sq.m \:

2(l+b) × h = 240

2(6+4) × h = 240

2(10) × h = 240

h \:  =  \frac{240}{2 \times 10}  = 12m

H = 12 m
