let the height of the pillar be x.
therefore, the base will be of the measurement√3x.


now, tanA=x/√3x
=>tanA=1/√3
=>tanA=tan30°[since tan 30°=1/√3]
=>A=30°


therefore the angle of elevation of the light source is 30°.
