Given :  the length of the shadow of a pole 12 meters high is 9 meters on the ground

To Find :  at the same time to the length of the shadow of the pole 18 meters high will be

Solution:

Let say length of the shadow of the pole 18 meters high will be = x m

Ratio of height and length of shadow would be same at same time.

=>    12/9   = 18/x

=> x = 18 * 9 /12

=> x = 3 * 9 / 2

=> x = 27/2
