The length of the shadow on flat ground of a man who is 6 feet tall and is standing up straight is 8 feet. The distance between the top of his head and the top of his head in the shadow is feet.

This is a Pythagoras theorem based question.
To solve it yourself:
make a right angled triangle with base BC and perpendicular AB.
Since , AC^=AB^ + BC^ {Pythagoras theorem}
AC=√6^ + 8^
=AC=√36+64
=AC=√100 =10
=AC=10feet
