Given

  • The length of the sides of a scalene triangle are in the ratio 1:2:3.

  • The perimeter of the triangle is 24 cm.

We find

  • Value of 1:2:3

Let that

Let the side of the rectangle be x = 1x, 2x, 3x

We know that

x + 2x + 3x = Sum of sides of scalene triangle (perimeter)

According to the question

= x + 2x + 3x = perimeter of scalene triangle

= x + 2x + 3x = 24 CM

= 6x = 24

= x = 24/6

= x = 4

So,

x = 1 × 4 = 4 cm

2x = 2 × 4 = 8 cm

3x = 3 × 4 = 12 cm

So, Sides of Given scalene triangle is 4, 8, 12 cm

Verification

Sum of sides = Perimeter of scalene triangle

= 4 + 8 + 12 = 24 cm

= 24 = 24

= LHS ≈ RHS

Hence its proved that,

x = 4 cm

2x = 8 cm

3x = 12 cm
