Area = (6 metre)^2 = 36 metre^2

Length of square room excluding width of carpet= (6-(2×1.5)) metre

= (6-3) metre= 3 metre

Area excluding it= (3 metre)^2

= 9 metre^2

Area of carpet= (36-9) metre^2

= 27 metre^2

Cost of carpeting 27 metre^2 @ Rs. 325 per metre^2 = 27×325=Rs.8775
