Answer:

Given:

The perimeter of the table cloth = 60 m

The length of the table cloth is twice the breadth

Formula used:

The perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l + b)

The area of the rectangle = lb

Where, l = length, and b = breadth

Calculation:

Let the width of the table cloth be y

Then, Length of the table cloth = 2y

The perimeter of the table cloth = 60 m

⇒ 2(2y + y) = 60

⇒ 3y = 30

⇒ y = 10

The length and breadth of the table cloth is 20 m and 10 m respectively

The area of the one table cloth = 20 × 10 = 200 m2

∴ The area of the 5 table cloth = 200 × 5 = 1000 m2
