SOLUTION

GIVEN

The length of three rectangles having equal area are 24 cm, 12cm and 8cm.

TO DETERMINE

The ratio of their breadth

EVALUATION

Let area of each rectangle = A Sq.cm

Noe it is given that the length of three rectangles are 24 cm, 12cm and 8cm.

Since area = Length × Breadth

Hence breadth of the three rectangles are respectively A/24 Sq.cm , A/12 Sq.cm , A/8 Sq.cm

Hence the required ratio of their breadth

  \displaystyle\sf{ =  \frac{A}{24} : \frac{A}{12} :\frac{A}{8}  }

  \displaystyle\sf{ =  \frac{24A}{24} : \frac{24A}{12} :\frac{24A}{8}  }

  \displaystyle\sf{ = 1 : 2 :3  }
