area of trapezium= (sum of parallel sides)÷2×height
=(14+12)÷2×5
=26÷2×5
=13×5
=65cm²

Given :

The lengths of the parallel sides of a trapezium are 14 cm and 12 cm , if its altitude is 5 cm

To Find :

calculate the area of the trapezium .

Solution:

Altitude of trapezium = 5 cm

The lengths of the parallel sides of a trapezium are 14 cm and 12 cm

Area of trapezium = \frac{1}{2}(\text{Sum of parallel sides}) \times Height

Area of trapezium =\frac{1}{2}(14+12)(5)

Area of trapezium=65 cm^2

Hence The area of trapezium is 65 sq.cm.
