Answer :

  • The distance between the parallel side is 8cm
  • Option (c)

Given :

  • The length of the parallel sides of a trapezium are 19cm and 13cm
  • Area of trapezium is 128cm²

To find :

  • The distance between the parallel sides is

Solution :

  • Let the height be x

Given that , Area of trapezium is 128cm² so,

Now we have to use the formula of trapezium

As we know that,

  • Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of parallel side) × height

where , Area of trapezium is 128 , sum of parallel sides is 19cm and 13cm , and height is x

Now ,

⇢ Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of parallel side) × height

⇢ 128 = 1/2 × (19 + 13) × x

⇢ 128 = 1/2 × 32 × x

⇢ 128 = 16x

⇢ 16x = 128

⇢ x = 128/6

⇢ x = 8 cm

Hence , The distance between the parallel side is 8cm

More Explanation :

  • Trapezium is a 2D shape
  • iscoscles trapezium, scalene trapezium and right trapezium are types of trapezium
  • Trapezium has 4 vertices
  • Trapezium has 4 edges
