The lengths of the sides of a triangle are 12cm, 16cm and 21cm, respectively. The bisectors of the greatest angle divide the opposite sides into two parts. What is the length of these two parts?

This sounds like a homework question, so I won’t give the answer, but I’ll give you a start in the right direction.

The size of angles of triangles are determined by the lengths of their sides. The greatest angle of a triangle will always be the angle opposite the largest side.

A bisector if an angle splits that angle perfectly in half.

If that bisector extends from that angle to the opposite side f the triangle, it will split that side into perfect halves.

Remember, the side opposite the greater angle, the angle being split in half in this problem, is opposite the largest side.

Now that you have figured all of this out, which side is being split in half, and how long would each part of that side be after the original side is split in half?

I hope this will help you XD
