The lengths of two sides of a right triangle are 5 cm and 12 cm. Find the length of the hypotenuse.

length \: of \: hypotenuse = opposite  + adjacent

hyp  =  {5cm}^ {2}  +  {12cm}^{2}

hyp = 25cm + 144cm

hyp = 169cm

hyp =  \sqrt{169}

hyp = 13

therefore \: hypotenuse \: is \: 13cm
