Answer:

The length of Rectangle A is 80 m and its breadth is 40 m so the perimeter of A is 2(80+40) = 2*120 = 240 m.

The length of Rectangle B is (1.05)*80 = 84 m and its breadth is 40*0.95 = 38 m so the perimeter of B is 2(84+38) = 2*112 = 224 m.

The difference in the perimeters of rectangles A and B is 16 m.

Explanation:

The perimeter of the original rectangle is 2(80 +40) or 240m. if the length is INCREASED by 5% then it is now 1.05 * 80 or 84m on a side. and the breadth is 0.95 * 40 or 38m per side. The perimeter of the new rectangle is 2(84+38) or 244m. Subtracting the two perimeters, the second one is 4 meters longer.
