Dimensions of the rectangle:

Let width = x m

Length of the rectangle = 3 times of the width

= 3x m

Given ,
Perimeter of the rectangle = 84 m

2 ( length + width ) = 84

2 ( 3x + x ) = 84

2 × 4x = 84

8x = 84

x = 84 / 8

x = 21 /2 = 10.5 m

Therefore ,

Width of the rectangle = x = 10.5 m

Length of the the rectangle = 3x = 3 ×10.5 m = 31.5 m

now, perimeter = 2(l+b)
84 = 2(3x+x)
84 =2*4x
84 =8x
84/8 =x
10.5. =x
now , length = 3x
= 3*10.5
=31.5
