Through public and school education, the overall population can be taught more sustainable practices to use in their daily lives. From turning off lights when not in use to choosing a more active method of transportation (walking over driving), resources are saved and the environmental impact is reduced.

Another example of pollution is oil spills which are difficult to clean-up, however, can still be done. Since human hair efficiently absorbs oils, bunching human hairs and lowering them into oil spills has reduced the negative impacts of oil spills.
