While it is young, the goats eat its leaves and prevent it from growing. On becoming a bigger tree, the grass cutter’s scythe proves to threaten it by cutting it down.  

When it grows in the monsoon, blight withers its leaves.  Despite all this, the cherry tree braces itself and blooms beautifully. This goes on to show that despite all odds, one should overcome all obstacles and come out successful.
