One of the originators of this line of inquiry and one of the most important (same say the most important) philosophers of the linguistic turn is Ludwig Wittgenstein. The limits of my language mean the limits of my world. Wittgenstein published only one book in his lifetime, the Logico-Tractatus Philosophicus.
