Edible oil consumption
Over the past 25 years, the consumption of edible oils has gradually decreased. In 1995, soyabean oil had the highest consumption (in thousand) of about 140 litres while sunflower oil was a little less than 100 litres. In 2000, consumption of oil increased to 160 litres while that of sunflower oil decreased to a little above 80 litres. Then in 2005, both the oil's consumption reached 100 litres. For sunflower, it remained stagnant till 2010, while soyabean oil decreased to 70 litres. Rice bran oil consumption also starts this year at 80 litres. In 2015, that became 0 for rice ban, while soyabean oil was at 60 litres and sunflower oil at 80 litres. In 2020, sunflower hit 40 litres, rice bran oil increased to a little less than 60 litres and soyabean oil around 50 litres.
