Answer:

A=(2,-1) B =(5,-6) P=(x,y)

by mid pt formula :  x1+x2/2 ,y1 +y2/2

(2+5/2)=x , (-1+(-6)=y

7/2 =x , -7/2=y

now put the value of x and y in eq 2x+4y+k=0

2(7/2) + 4(-7/2)= -k

7 -14 =-k

k=7

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

As the line is formed by joining the two points those points will surely lie on that line

So substitute each point in the equation

(2,-1) in the equation gives 2*2+4*-1+k=0 i.e., 4-4+k=0 i.e., k=0

(5,-6) in the equation gives 2*5+4*-6+k=0 i.e, 10-24+k=0 i.e., k=14
