The measure of PRS = 45°

Given:

The line m is a line of symmetry for square PQRS.

To find:

What is the measure of PRS?

Solution:

Given that PQRS is a square

And Line 'm' is a line of symmetry of PQRS

which means Line 'm' divides the square into 2 equal parts and the parts of the figure on either side of the line are mirror images of each other.

And also the line 'm' bisects the ∠QRS

The measure of PRS = (1/2)(∠QRS)

As we know the angle at the vertex of a square = 90°

=> ∠QRS = 90°

The measure of PRS = (1/2)(90°) = 45°

Therefore,

The measure of PRS = 45°
