Given equation (p+2q)x + (p-3q)y = p - q  can be written as

px + 2qx + py - 3qy = p - q  

px + py + 2qx - 3qy = p - q

p(x + y) - q(-2x + 3y) = p - q 

x + y = 1        ------------ (1)

-2x + 3y = 1  --------------- (2)

On solving (1)*2 and (2) we get

y = 3/5

substitute y = 5/3 in (1) we get

x = 2/5.
