Answer:

The value of k is 1

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of line-

x + 2k = 7     ----------- 1

This line is passing through from the intersecting points of

3x + 2y = 11             ------------- 2

2x + 3y = 4              -------------- 3

Multiply in equation 2 by 3 and multiply in equation 3 by 2

3(3x + 2y = 11)

2(2x + 3y = 4)

9x + 6y = 33

4x + 6y = 8

          Subtracting

9x - 4x = 33 - 8

5x = 25

x = 5

Put x = 5 in equation 3.

2x + 3y = 4

2(5) + 3y = 4

10 + 3y = 4

3y = 4 - 10

3y = -6

y = -3

Hence, intersecting point of equation 3 is O(5, -3).

Since x + 2k = 7  is passing through the points O(5, -3)

Then O(5, -3) will satisfy the equation 1.

So, put x = 5 in equation 1

We have-

x + 2k = 7

5 + 2k = 7

2k = 7 - 5

2k = 2

k = 1

Hence, the value of k is 1.
