The linear magnification of a convex mirror of focal length 15 cm is 1/3 what is the distance of object from the focus of the mirror

Acc to mirror formula

v=uf/(u-f)

v=15u/(u-15)

m=-v/u

1/3=-[(15u)/(u-15)]/u

1/3=-15/u-15

-45=u-15

u=-30cm

that's the object is placed 30 cm in front of the mirror. but as the focus of the convex mirror is placed to the right of the mirror therefore the distance of the object from the focus of the mirror will be 45 CM
