The linear magnification produced by a spherical mirror is +1/3. Analysing this value, state

the (i) type of mirror and (ii) position of the object with respect to the pole of the mirror.

Answer:

1) The type of mirror is concave mirror . 2) When the object is placed beyond the centre of curvature , the image formed is between the focus and centre of curvature . ... So, the linear magnification of the image is -1/3
