convex mirror always forms an erect image . So, it cannot be a convex mirror .

As , the linear magnification  =  -1/3

1) The type of mirror is concave mirror .

2) When the object is placed beyond the centre of curvature , the image formed is between the focus and centre of curvature .

AB is the object .

C``D`` is the diminished and inverted image .

So, the linear magnification of the image is -1/3 .

The - sign indicates an inverted image .

The value less than 1 indicates a diminished image .
