SUMMARY:
In the first day the main characters Lakunle and Sidi was introduced. Lakunle , a 23 years old school teacher , is teaching the students. He is an admire of Western culture . when he notices sidi's arrival, he rushes to her and offershis voluntary help to carry the bucket . Though sidi refuses, he takes the bucket .
sidi that her photos have appeared and published in the magazine and the photographer has came back to the village. sidi notices the magazine and feels proud of herself. Now , Baroka , the head of the village , appears and praises Sidi for her popularity in the town.
Sidi , went to the market area. she is followed by Lakunle . Sadiku , the wife of Baroka , meets Sidi and informs her that Baroka wants to marry her. but sidi refuses to marry a old man Baroka. sadiku had planned that sidi wants to meet baroka . sadiku was standing infront of tree , she was laughing . sidi had notices that and ask her what is the reason . sadiku says that Baroka has lost his manliness . After that she went to Baroka's house. she wants to tease him and she wants to see how baroka responds while she herself goes to him. she also feels that it is a time for her to play a cunning role on her part. At his house, she notices his physical power. she is fascinated by his wise words. the closeness stirs something in her youth. she falls on his shoulder. later, she loses her virginity to baroka. At last , she marry's an old man the head of the village baroka.
