Sometimes, all it takes is a little initiative. Pune being the second most populated city in the state, there's only so much the city corporation can do. But when someone picks up a broom and starts cleaning their neighbourhood to set example, even passers by roll up their sleeves and join in. "I participated in a cleanup that included many corporate volunteers. It was nice to see managers, directors and students joining forces to clean the Sinhagad fort. It was an informal group of around 25 people, mostly strangers who all made new friends by the end of the cleanup," says Neha Yeole, whose walk group takes up different causes with volunteers in the city.
