The Lokadalats came into existence in the year 1982.
EXPLANATION:
The meaning of Lokadalats is Peoples Court. It came into existence in the year 1982 but it was not a new principle. In ancient times, the king would act as a highest court of justice, but all cases could not be brought to the king directly, so there was a local court which would try to look into the matters to solve it.
But, this system of courts was banned by British when they established several civil and district courts. But, after the independence of India this system was reintroduced to provide justice on the village level.
It was done so that speedy trail could be done and the person concerned can get justice, and also due to the fact that number of judges in India per case in very low, so the courts are already burdened by previous pending cases. So, to ease the process of justification these courts were re established in India in 1982.
