The long and short hands of a clock are 6 cm and 4 cm long respectively. Find the sum of the distances travelled by their tips in 24 hours ( use pie = 3.14)

distance travelled in 12 hours = 2(pie)r
distance travelled in 24 hours = 4(pie)r
total distance travelled = 4(pie) (r1+r2)
=125.6cm

distance traveled by the hands =circumference of the circle.
 circumference of the circle produced byshort hand=2πr=2*3.14*4=25.12cm
circumference of the circle produced by long hand=2πR=2*3.14*6=37.68cm
therefore the sum=25.12+37.68=62.8cm
