• It is known to cover the North-South corridor of NHDP. It runs over approximately 3745 km.

• It runs from North to South, starting from Srinagar to Kanyakumari.

• It was constructed by the Central Public Works Department( CPWD).

• A total of seven national highways have been merged to form this.
