‘The Ball Poem’ is written by John Berryman.

In the poem, the little boy loses his ball. Even though he could get other balls, He would think about that lost ball which rolled away from his hands. Through his young days, he would keep on thinking about that ball and he would feel sad about the loss.

Though later, he understands that things like balls are meant to be lost and that in life there are certain things to let go, throughout his childhood he would only think about that lost ball and would feel sad.
