We can come to the conclusion that the kind hearted man would have found some way to get the child reunited with his family. In the end of the story, the writer Mulk Raj Anand, tries to convey the message that the kind hearted man had tried his best to make the child happy by offering all the materialistic things that the child wanted a few moments back, but as the child reiterated the sentence, 'I want my mother, I want my father', the man would have realised that all what the child wanted was to be back with his family and he would have tried his best to find the child's parents.
