Answer:

7304 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given---> Radius of base of tent = 28m

Height of cylindrical part = 15m

Slant height of cone = 53m

To find ---> Canvas required to make the tent

Solution---> First we find curved surface area of cylindrical part and conical part of tent .

Curved surface area of cylindrical part= 2πrh

= 2 × 22/7 × radius of base × height of cylindrical

part

= 2 × (22 / 7) × 28 × 15

= 2 × 22 × 4 × 15

= 44 × 60

= 2640 m²

Curved surface area of cone = π r l

= ( 22 / 7 ) × ( radius of base ) × Slant height

= ( 22 / 7 ) × 28 × 53

= 22 × 4 × 53

= 88 × 53

= 4664 m²

Area of canvas required for making tents

= curved surface Area of cylindrical part + curved surface area of conical part

= 2640 + 4664

= 7304 m²
