Given :

Marked price : ₹740

Two successive discounts : 15% and x%

Selling price : ₹566.10

To find :

The value of the x.

Solution :

First, we should find the value of that item after the first discount :

Value of the item after first discount :

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{(100 - Discount\%)}{100} \times MP

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{(100 - 15)}{100} \times 740

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{85}{100} \times 740

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{17}{20} \times 740

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{17 \times 740}{20} = \dfrac{12580}{20}

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{12580}{20} = 629

Now, let's find the second discount rupees.

Second discount rupees :

\sf \dashrightarrow 629 - 566.10

\sf \dashrightarrow Rs.62.9

Now, we can find the discount percentage.

Value of x :

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{Discount}{Cost \: price} \times 100

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{62.9}{629} \times 100

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{629}{6290} \times 100

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{1}{10} \times 100

\sf \dashrightarrow \dfrac{1 \times 100}{10} = \dfrac{100}{10}

\sf \dashrightarrow 10\%

Hence ,the value of x is 10%.
