Explanation:

Given that, m=40g =0.04 kg

v=1200 m/s

and F=144 N

Let n be the number of bullets that can be fired per second.

The force exerted by man must balance the change in momentum of the bullets per second.

Hence, F = mnv

=>144 = 0.04×n×1200

=> 144 = 4×n×12

=>36 = n× 12

=> n = 3

Hope it will help you ♥️

Explanation :- force exerted by machine gun on man's hand in firing a bullet = change in momentum per second on a bullet or rate of range of momentum .

  • =( 40/1000) × 1200 = 48N
  • Force exerted by man on machine gun = 144N

Hence, number of bullets fired = 144/48

= 3 Answer
